GRADING RESULTS - AUGUST 2009

Short and sweet, and very successful
August is normally the quietest grading of the year as many people are either on holiday or are working round the clock in the local tourist industry. August 2009 was no exception to the rule.

A small group of "die hards" turned up for the morning's training which focussed on some slightly different ways to apply everyday techniques. The black belts had a bit of a treat when they spent nearly an hour grappling, hitting each other on pressure points and defending themselves from knife attacks (not necessarily what most people would consider a "treat", but that's Karate for you!).

Shihan Whale, Sensei Blamey and Sensie Woods made up the panel and put the four gradees through their paces, with the following results:-

Promoted to ...

YELLOW BELT - 7th Kyu
Finn Tennebaum Peters - Devoran/Falmouth

GREEN BELT - 5th Kyu
Kai Tennebaum Peters - Devoran/Falmouth

BROWN BELT - 1st Kyu
Euan Bassey - Penryn/Falmouth

NIDAN - BLACK BELT 2nd Dan
Sempai JOSH HUGHES - Helston

Well done to all.
