GRADING RESULTS - MAY 2009

Short and sweet, with a 100% pass rate.
Result!
After 17 years of starting the morning's training at
11 am, this was the first grading day that started at
10 am. Sure enough, there were a few who turned up an
hour late ... and got 50 press ups for not checking
their emails!
Those who were on time spent the morning working on taisebaki (avoidance/sidestepping) and practising Ippon Kumite.
Though attendance was low, Shihan Whale thanked those who did turn up and reminded the various club instructors to make it very clear to their members who weren't there that they should have made the effort to turn up for the training, if nothing else!
After a short break, the panel consisting of Shihan Whale, Sensei Long and Sempai Collett put ten students through their paces. The majority of those grading did as expected, and passed with no problem. There were a few, though, who did significantly better than expected and attained their next grade with aplomb.
A good day all round, and well deserved grades.
