GRADING RESULTS; AUGUST 2011

Good work in hot and close
conditions
For the last three months all instructors have been
warning their students that we would be looking
closely at stances at this grading. And, just to make
sure, stances were on the agenda at the morning
training session.
After the break the gradings started in earnest with Shihan Whale, Sensei Long and Sempai Collett on the panel, with Sempai Vicky Sharpe and Sempai Alice Helliwell sitting in as observers (examiners in training).
Overall the panel was quite pleased to notice that the standard of stances was much improved and hope to see a continuing improvement in the technical aspects of our syllabus. The higher grades in particular should receive some recognition for the excellent spirit and work rate shown in their examinations.
Sadly, there were a few people who did not quite show their best on the day and were not promoted, but I am sure that they will will take away with them their feedback and come back stronger and better in three months time.
Those that passed were as follows...
Promoted to
8th KYU WHITE BELT
Kea Young - Devoran
Bradley Watts - Camborne
Shelley Tanner - Camborne/Helston
Natalie Parkington - Camborne/Helston
7th KYU YELLOW BELT
Jade Blakiston - Helston
Emily Buckler - Helston
Darryl Buckler - Helston
6th KYU ORANGE BELT
Laura Salter - Devoran/Falmouth/Penryn
