GRADING RESULTS: NOVEMBER 2011

Four black belt awards
It was a mild day outside but there was plenty of steam inside as a large group of karateka worked on a variety of block and counter routines. A quick practice of ippon kumite and the morning's training was over. It didn't seem like two hours!

At the end of the morning session Sensei Adam Collick was promoted to 5th Dan in response to his continuing work for Sandokai both in and out if the dojo.

After a short break the grading started in earnest under Shihan Whale, Shihan Gilbert and Sensei Woods. Though not everyone passed, the overall standard was quite good with a few people who really excelled. It was particularly pleasing to note that two people who had failed at the last grading had not only come back better and stronger but gave an outstanding performance.

Those who were successful were:

It is always pleasing to be able to say that Sandokai members have managed to achieve black belt grades and today two people managed to do so.

Thomas Gilbert (Helston) joins the ranks of the Yudansha and was awarded his Shodan, Black belt 1st Dan.

Richard Collett (Camborne) joins the ranks of the Sensei and was awarded his Sandan, Black belt 3rd Dan.

Well done to all.
