6 a.m. on November the 12th saw an unholy sight, a group of karateka preparing to start a twelve hour non-stop karate class.

Probably the scariest sight was Sensei Jason in his bright yellow gi, but it was all in a good cause, Children in Need.

During the day other Sandokai members dropped in and out to grab a bit of extra training, and there was a senior grade training session from 11 am to 1 pm. Though there was no charge for the training every person who trained that day made a donation to Children In Need. In fact, every passing person who ventured close enough was "mugged" for a donation whether they had anything to do with karate or not.

After twelve hours of training the hardy few and their supporters hung up their gi and retired to the bar for a well earned libation.

We do not know (yet) how much we have raised as there is a certain amount of sponsorship to be collected in, but watch this space. As soon as we have a final figure it will be reported here.

Well done, all concerned.
