Below is calendar of events for the current year. Please keep an eye on this page as we will add more events (courses, competitions, etc.) as time passes.

November 26th 2023. 10:00 - 15:00

GRADING - HELSTON DOJO

The format is training from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (ish), a short break, then the grading examinations from about 12:30 onwards. Beginners taking white belt are examined first, then white belts taking yellow belt, yellow belts taking orange belt etc. with senior gradings (brown & black belts) last. All results are given at the end of the day.

If you are taking the examination make sure you have with you [1] a current licence, [2] a clean karate suit, and [3] the correct grading fee. All students should bring their licence with them to every grading.

If you are not ready to take your belt it will be in your best interest to attend the morning training session (cost £4) so you can train with different students and instructors. You can then sit back and watch the others taking their belt examinations so you know what to expect when your time comes.

The venue is Helston Upper School in Church Street (TR13 8NR). Make sure you are there, changed and ready to start, before 10 a.m. as anyone arriving late gets (at least) 30 press ups! Friends /parents /family are more than welcome to attend and watch (quietly).

CHRISTMAS PARTY - HELSTON FOOTBALL CLUB

The final event of the year.

Get together with your fellow karate-ka for an evening of socialising, special presentations, fun and games.

Admission is free, but bring some cash for your drinks (club prices).
